SELLARONDA BIKE DAY 2022 - THANK YOU!
The variable weather conditions made it impossible for the event to run smoothly, both due the low temperatures and the light snowfall. A few courageous cyclists still decided to try to complete the non-competitive event and ventured out on the route despite the perceived 5 degrees in the valley and the light blanket of snow that turned the mountain peaks and mountain passes in white.
In the course of the day, however, it cleared up, so that other courageous cyclists adventured the tour over the passes, although the temperatures remained relatively low.
The day didn't live up to the previous day's expectations in terms of the number of visitors, but it was still a nice day to experience with friends or alone.
Above all, it is always amazing how big the difference is between a normal day with motorised traffic and a day with a full road closure. This also has a positive effect on the perceived peace and quietness and generally on the benefit for the environment.
Next year, the Sellaronda Bike Day will take place on 10 June and 16 September 2023.
